As part of the McIntosh Group, Purcher International has invested in the future education of our industry by becoming a Registered Training Organisation – McIntosh Training Academy, developing an in-house apprenticeship program where students can benefit from a dynamic learning environment in our world-class facilities.

We aim to be leaders in the selection, management and training of apprentices for machinery dealerships.

As a Registered Training Organisation, our apprentices have the unique opportunity to start immediately on their practical and theoretical training supported by the RTO lecturers and senior trade specialists.

Our students graduate industry-ready, specialised in their field and have long term career prospects within Purcher International and the McIntosh Group.

HEAVY VEHICLE MECHANIC

Due to ongoing business growth, we are seeking a qualified Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic for our Truck Division, located in Geraldton.

What you’ll be doing:

Working as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, you will join a team of service professionals who have a great sense of pride in delivering an exceptional standard of service to customers. In this position you will be working on all makes and models of trucks and trailers including but not limited to Freightliners, Mercedes, Fuso & Iveco.

  • Carrying out scheduled services on all vehicles and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Diagnosing and fault-finding mechanical problems.
  • Carrying out truck and trailer maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Attending breakdowns, call outs as required and be part of a on call roster as required.
  • Completing required daily paperwork.
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Certificate III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
  • Heavy Rigid licence or be willing to obtain one. (preferable).
  • Flexible with workhours to meet operational needs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Be safety minded.
  • Be able to work as part of a team or autonomously.

MACHINE DETAILER / YARD HAND

What you’ll be doing:
  • Machine detailing
  • Yard maintenance
  • Loading and unloading of equipment
  • General cleaning duties / yard and workshop maintenance
  • General trades assistance to our mechanics
  • Adherence to high level of safety
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Demonstrated experience within a Detailer or Trade Assistant role (desirable but not essential)
  • C Class Drivers licence
  • Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
  • A strong commitment to safety
  • Attention to detail with an ability to prioritise your workload and work effectively unsupervised
  • Positive attitude along with good work ethic
